Press conference for Seyyed-Mohammadreza Kheradmandan’s latest '21 Days Later’, competing at the 35th edition of the Fajr Film Festival, has been held.
The session was organized at Tehran’s Milad Conference Hall on Wednesday as part of ongoing Fajr Film Festival pressers.
Kheradmandan’s latest work is competing at the ‘Soda-ye-Simorgh’ section of the 35th Fajr Film Festival which is the main completion section of the prestigious Iranian event.
The movie, starring Sareh Bayat and Hamidreza Azarang, is a melodrama film about a teenager who has to struggle with several challenges in order to fulfill his dad’s wishes.
“It’s always the same! The last time the sky started getting cloudy, the weather became so wild that the storm could have pulled down the trees. It was pouring rain,” the movie’s plot read, adding, “The birds were screaming around their nests. One of the guys said he saw the sun getting dark and light once or twice.”
Fajr Festivals are annually held in Iran during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn) which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.
Established in 1982, Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.
Since its establishment, Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
